How many neurodivergent staff are in your team and how do you accommodate their individual needs?
Neurodiversity refers to variations in the workings of the human brain. So while we are all neurodiverse, people whose brains work in a less typical way are usually referred to as neurodivergent. Neurodivergent conditions include autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, Tourette syndrome and various types of cognitive and learning differences.
While previously thought of as a disability, neurodivergence is now understood to be simply a difference in brain functions, which presents a range of advantages and benefits, as well as challenges in the workplace.
This course provides foundation knowledge about neurodiversity, but the key focus is on practical ways managers can identify neurodivergent staff (given that status is often not disclosed) and accommodate and work with those staff.
Practical, interactive and engaging, this course will build skills in managing neurodivergent people and getting the best from diverse teams.
This popular course is also offered as an abridged half-day online version in our public training. Details of the topics to be covered in a half day will appear on the event booking site when offered in our public training calendar.
We also have a one-day version of this course suitable for all staff, that is available on request for custom training clients.
